Ps 119:121
AIN - The sixteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet. This section of Psalm 119 gives us insight into the believer's confidence. Our confidence is IN the LORD and not ouurselves. THAT is an expression of faith.
Here the psalmist reminds the LORD of what he has done and petitions God for what He must do. The psalmist declares to God that he has been just and has done what is right and seeks deliverance from his oppressors.
In essence he is saying, "LORD, I have done what you require; now will You please do what only You can do? It is a cry of desperation.
Ps 119:122
On the basis of Your Word and my faithfulness to it, Oh God, assure me of my well being, my safety, and do not let these arrogant enemies overpower and oppress me.
As believers, we must always remember who our enemies are: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Although Satan uses people, our battle is ultimately against him. If we do not see this we will get all out of sorts with people and break fellowship with the Lord who is our only defense and His Word is our only offense.
Ps 119:123
Let's face it. Sometimes we can see no way out. It seems that the enemy has us on the mat with the count to nine. We listen for the bell and the bell does not seem to ring. Will we go down in defeat? Will we be put to shame?
And then, just in the nick of time, there is that sudden surge of spirit that comes from the Word of God (faith), that enables us to get up once more and pin the enemy. It is His strength, not mine; His Spirit in mine, always, always just at the right time because His Word says so.
Ps 119:124
The cry for mercy is always a cry God hears. Our need of mercy is a confession that we are enable, incapable, and without any means whatsoever, apart from God to win the match. We struggle, but He alone saves. It is not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy....
THAT is what His Word says and that is how it is - PERIOD.
Ps 119:125
How can a servant serves without the understanding of what the master desire and decrees? So we throw ourselve on the mercy of God and seek for a clearer understanding of the way He has worked in the lives of His saints through the ages. This a witness to us as to how He will work with us.
It is so easy to get so weary in well doing, but we "must not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. IN HIS NAME there is power and renewed strength.
Ps 119:126
The enemies may insult, scoff, and scream at me all they wish, but when they seek to nullify by violating His instructions, He steps in and throws them out. It is always best to simply draw near to Him and resist the enemy. We are in this together, he and I. He is the master and I am the servant. He owns me and when others trouble me they trouble Him.
When I was a boy I was very skinny and short. I always picked big friends and when someone picked on me, my big friends would take care of them. That is what the Lord is to me - a BIG FRIEND!
Ps 119:127
I prefer God's commandments to man's cash. My affection for His laws, boundaries, righteous judgments, decrees and instructions are what I love. The are for my good and His glory.
BLESSINGS!
