Morning Moments

DALETH – The fourth letter of the Hebrew alphabet – Psalm 119:

25 My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.
26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
29 Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.
30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.
32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

Today we meditate on the Portion of Psalm 119 that is represented by the forth letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Each letter conveys spiritual truth. Let’s see what God will teach us today –

The law of gravity pulls us down. It is a law! It happens every time with only one exception – that exception is the law of aerodynamics. The psalmist understands what pulls him down, but he also understands WHO will lift him up. Paul likens these life principles to the law of sin and death and the law of the Spirit of Life IN Christ Jesus.

No so-called sacred writing can do what the Word of God can do. Hence, what God does is ACCORDING to His Word. The Koran does not dare to base its veracity of unfulfilled prophecy. NO other book but the Bible does that. Sometimes God speaks, naming certain people such as Cyrus, many years before his birth; to tell us in advance what he will do that fulfils the Word of God. Absolutely Amazing!

The psalmist continues by saying that because he “opened up” to God, which means that we acknowledge to Him what He already knows about us that we have hidden from others. We must do the same and seek for God to teach us His ways and help us to understand how to apply the truth He gives us to our lives. David said in Psalm 51, “…THEN will I teach transgressors your ways and sinner shall be converted.”

Old Dr. Bob Jones, Sr. us to say, “You cannot tell anyone something you know nothing about anymore than you can come from someplace you have never been.”

“As the hart panteth after the water brook, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God.” That is how we should seek God. Our hearts should melt over His Word which gives us strength as we seek to be honest. The truth of God must be chosen and be our life guide so that we live unashamed.

Run to HIM and He will give you a bigger heart for Him.

BLESSINGS!
