Morning Moments

1 Peter 1:
7 …Jesus Christ.
8 You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

Not all, but most cyberspace relationships are superficial and deceptive. People “fall in love” everyday with someone far away they have never seen or met, except for romantic words and a photo they cannot even be sure resembles the real person. In fact, that person may even be of the same sex. The other person may be a pedophile, a serial killer, abusive, or any other kind of monster. There are no guarantees with such internet experiences.

There is a space beyond cyberspace where there is a relationship possible with guarantees. It is a relationship with Someone who resides in a faraway place AND A NEAR ONE. This relationship has been time and truth tested and found by millions through the ages to be real. In fact, no other relationship can be so real, for no human being can live inside another human being.

The uniqueness of the TRUE relationship we have we Christ is seen in a changed life. Oh, don’t be fooled, just as there are those in internet experiences who “love” the “idea” of the other person; someone to share true feelings with, to tell everything and anything without having a true name and a true address without FORSEEABLE danger, there are those who have the same kind of relationship with God. It is an idea, an image and NOT the real thing.

BUT for us who have had our lives changed, inside and out, and who have ourselves become the habitation of God Himself, it is a different matter altogether. “Whosoever is born of God CANNOT continue in sin; for God’s seed remains in us.” The emphasis in the text is on lifestyle. “If we say we have not sinned, we make God a liar.” If we say we do not have the sin nature in us, we are deceiving ourselves, BUT WHATSOEVER (not whosoever) is born of God, overcomes the world and this is THAT which overcomes the world – even our FAITH. Read First John.

So, here’s the deal – a superficial relationship with anyone can give you a rush; a feeling of temporary happiness, relief, acceptance or whatever you are looking for BUT there is a reality check – It is not permanent. No one can do that permanently but JESUS.

Let’s keep it real, my friend. Just as counterfeit money is illegal for man and dangerous, counterfeit relationship are illegal with God and dangerous. They may offer a temporary thrill, but when the thrill is gone, you are left alone. The quick fix doesn’t last but demands more and more until you are alone and misery.

ONLY one relationship is real; it is a heavenly one with Jesus Christ, and He alone can make all other relationships right.

We may not have seen Him physically yet, but we KNOW Him, because He lives IN us and is FOR us, and WITH us, and all ABOUT us. Hallelujah!

No wonder I wake up smiling

BLESSINGS!
