Morning Moments

1 Timothy 6:2-3 (HCSB)
2 Those who have believing masters should not be disrespectful to them because they are brothers, but should serve them better, since those who benefit from their service are believers and dearly loved. Teach and encourage these things. 3 If anyone teaches other doctrine and does not agree with the sound teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that promotes godliness,

I can hear someone say, "No man is my master." Okay, stop reading this then and go serve the devil. If one cannot submit to the authority of man, he will never submit to the authority of God.

Here is a simple question for us all. If Jesus were your employer or employee, how would you treat Him? We must treat those over us or under us "as unto the Lord".

Our reputation should be that we are conscientious, not contentious ; positive, not pessimistic; commendable, not critical; and workers, not shirkers. The marketplace is God's mission field for us.

Too many of us are afraid somebody is going to "take advantage" of us, so we look for ways to "level" the playing field. We "go on strike" instead of going on serving. We call in sick when we should call in sorry. We would never think of stealing money, but have little problem with stealing time, which is the same as stealing money.

Paul says, "Show Respect, Shoulder Responsibility, and Shun Rebellion - The word "consent" conveys the idea of "attaching oneself to". When we attach ourselves to truth we are transformed. It is sound teaching of sound doctrine that leads to spiritual temperament. We must "observe" all things He has commanded us, and to "observe" is to obey.

So, we first accept the truth, then we apply the truth, and then appreciate the truth about this matter because we see that is works. It is practical and it is spiritual.

BLESSINGS!
