Morning Moments

Having seen the Buffeting we receive when we STAND AGAINST Seductive Deceivers; the Rigor and Reproach, we must understand that the Reward is yet to come. Today we shall see How To Stand Stron Among Them according to 1 Timothy 4:11-16 -

11 These things command and teach.
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

BY EXPOSITION - "command and teach"

Command? What? Are you crazy? Can you imagine today's pastor commanding the church to do anything? We know little or nothing of commands in our day. We are a faithless and rebellious generation of church folks for the most part and if the pastor gets smart with this "command" thing, we will send him on his way. Why, even the Ten Commandment are a joke to many. Tiller, "the baby killer" was a church goer. He killed over 60,000 babies and I am sure some of the parents were church people too.

In America, when we practice something long enough that is illegal, we realize that the government can make money off it so we legalize it and tax it. It happened with the booze, with abortion, with pre-marital and extra-marital sex, with sexual perversion, and it is happening with marijuana. We are not interested in history, so we rarely learn. "Oh," we say, "people will do it anyway". How stupid can we be?

The cry a few years ago by many Christians was, "You can't legislate morally." So, WE STOPPED TRYING. We have become so indifferent about promiscuity that preachers and politicians are leading the way. When church members practice defying a command,as the world does, then soon after the preachers follow. As goes the church, so goes the country. When decent people "sit down", indecent people "stand up".

Look at today verse again: 11 These things command and teach.

We shall continue the outline as follows:
BY EXAMPLE
BY EXECUTION
BY EXPERIENCE
BY EXAMINATION

BLESSINGS!
