As we continue our consideration of Bible study, let me suggest that you create your own Study Buddy. There are several ways to do this:
With a computer - you may use a Word Processor and simply list as you study. For example:
Period: Creation
People: Adam - meaning of his name and any info you consider important.
Eve - Same for Eve
Penman: Moses - right away you discover that Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Bible and that he lived in a different period than Adam and Eve.
Purpose: This is where Bible Study becomes a ittle more difficult. With the above information in mind, it makes it a little easier. God wants us to know of His ability to make something from nothing, to show a clear distinction between humans and animals, to help us understand that He created us to have a personal relationship with Him and with one another, etc.
Picture or Pattern: We discover that just as Eve was made from Adam to be a helper for him, we are "born again" to be co-laborers with Christ.
Principle: The principle of design, the principle of interpersonal relationship, etc.
Problem: In the days of cration, you might ask, "Are these 24 hour days or periods of time. How can I determine that by the context? How can I substantiate that from other texts?
Place: Where did this occur and what do we know of this place?
IF you do not have a computer, use a notebook and clasify by TEXT - Genesis 1, etc.
I have several Bible programs on my computer, but I still use my Study Buddy as a reference. Try it! You will find it to be very helpful. Let me know.
Blessings!
