Morning Moments

STUMBLING!

Jas 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

The Bible teaches some important truth in these verses:

1. Everybody stumbles.
2. Everybdy causes someone to stumble.
3. We can keep from stumbling.
4. Only the Lord can keep us from stumbling.
5. Our love for the Word of God brings peace and nothing causes us to stumble.

Wow! That seems to me to take care of all our flimsy excuses. We all are clumsy in our speech from time to time and as a result hurt others. "Well, that's just the way I am" doesn't cut it with God nor others.

On the other hand, love covers a multitude of sins, so if we love the Lord, the Word, and others, we give them the benefit of the doubt, keep focused, and keep truckin'. That means we do not keep lists of people we think said something to hurt our feelings. Get over it! Grow up! You have done is and so have I and so has everyone else. It is life, my friend. If you wear your feelings on your sleve, you will get bumped.

Here is the deal: We love the Lord and His Word, we live in peace under our skin, everybody is definitely not going to love and appreciate us, but that doesn't matter anyway. Just walk in the light as a child of the day, watch where you are going and what you are saying and you have no idea what the expectation of someone else is anyway. As long as God approves, that is all that matters. AND if you know He doesn't, avoid it, acknowledge it, confess it, forsake it and move on.

If we love the Lord and His Word, we DO NOT always say what we think and realize that even when other say what they think, it doesn't mean it is right. When you lose YOUR peace, it is your fault, not someone else's.

People do not do what we expect anyway - they don't know what we expect unless we tell them and IF we tell them, it better be consistent with what God says in His Word and consistent with the love of 1 Cor 13:4-8.

PRAYER: Lord, teach us to listen with two ears and not taught our both sides of our mouth. Teach us to let our yes be yes and our no no. Teach us not to look for error so much as we long to encourage.
