Morning Moments

I learn alot from my dogs. Today I saw something that reminded me of my blogs this week. One of my dogs is named Asa and the other Mattie. Mattie's eyes do not water so every day I have to place drops in her eyes or they scale over. That reminds me of the scales on the eyes of Paul after the Damascus road experience.

But today I noticed how she is about her stainless steel water bowl. I have noticed before that she stretches to drink as if there might be something in the bowl that frightens her. She will definitely NOT eat from a bowl - only off the floor. I know, I know I have spoiled her, but it's okay because she came to me at a most difficult time in my life and has been such a blessing.

Here is what I discovered today. It is not the sight of herself in the bowl, nor the contents of the bowl that bothers her, but the ripples in the water, and THAT my friend is a message in itself.

I am convinced that many of us are afraid of the "ripples" in the water. I remember when as a child the family would go to the beach at Panama City, Florida. We would venture out aways and when we saw a large wave we would try to beat the wave to the shore. Once in awhile the wave would overtake us and we would go under. At an early age, that was abit frightening.

As long as we see ripples, it is okay for us, but it is the waves of life that terrify many. The fear is being "taken under" by the wave. We are seeing mighty waves in our world today and many are terrified.

Mattie is small and the ripples to her are like waves, and that for some reason terrifys her of the water bowl. I have tried several different bowls, so I know it is the ripples in the water and not the bowl itself.

The bigger the waves, the smaller we seem and today we see larger waves than ever before in most of our lives. The thought of a Great Depression is like the thought of a tsunami. We are afraid of losing all we have because in America it is all about all we have.

Israel just stood there! The water was deep, the waves high, and the enemy pursuing, but a single man, Moses, saw beyond the water to the God who made the water, and He, in simple obedience took the rod of God and SMOTE the waters and they parted. HALLELUJAH!

I first wrote, "God give us such a man," but I rethought that to say, "MAN, We have such a GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
