I have begun a new life project that I am calling MY LIFE BIBLE. I already have over 5,000 pages and have just scratched the surface. It is a combination of several things:
1) The Bible text in the order in which it was believed to be written. I know that's not new, but this is a little different in that I place Job after Genesis 22, the Psalms in the context of their relation to Kings and Chronicles, and the New Testament beginning with Galatians, etc.
2) All the notes I have written over a 43 year period.
3) Word studies
4) Maps and Customs and Culture in context.
It is for me and my children and their children especially. I wish I had done this years ago, but it is not too late now. I am sharing this to suggest that you do the same in one way or another for your children and their children to see your journey.
What prompted this? One day at church some time ago, a man over 90 was telling some stories about the past. Someone said, "You should put those stories in book form, so that your posterity will be able to journey with you through your life.
I thought, "That is a great idea for my Bible study." It will give me a track to run on for the rest of my life. It may benefit no one else, but it will help me to see how far I have come and how far I have to go, and will mark my progress in my journey through THE BOOK of MY LIFE, THE BIBLE.
Perhaps I could use those of you who read these blogs to get response positive or negative about some of the work.
It may be like the guy Major Ian Thomas use to speak of who asked his friend if he thought there was enough fire in his poetry. His friend replied with, "There is not enough of your poetry in the fire."
Thank you for your prayers.
