Morning Moments

“A Man that is called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes” John 9:11
“Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see.”
Today I want to share something very special with you, and trust you will glorify God with me.
When I was a small child apparently I had a bad case of measles that radically affected my vision. In fact, I do not remember seeing the moon until I was in the first grade. I sat on the front row in school but could not see the board. The glasses opened up a new world for me once I got them, but with them came the comments like “four eyes”, “my what coke bottles you wear,” etc.. I was just happy to see, so the comments did not matter. Later it became, “Man, you must be blind,” and with a nose like that and glasses like that you look Jewish.
I’m sure the comments were made in fun, and honestly I don’t think they damaged my personality. In fact, they probably enhanced it. I was very near sighted and to read really small print, I would remove my glasses to do it. My friends laughed. It was how I had learned to live with my “handicap”.
This week, after 67 years, all that has changed; for this is the first morning in my life that I remember waking with 20/20 vision. Today blues are much bluer and even the fog outside has a beautiful blue tint to it. This week I had surgery on both eyes that has corrected a severe astigmatism as well as 20/600 and 20/400 vision. Praise the Lord, I am walking and leaping and praising God!
I waited and prayed for most of my life for the kind of vision most folks take for granted. Today praise God I have it. Sometimes God heal miraculously, divinely interrupting the life laws He created and designed. Sometimes God heals medicinally by medication prescribed. BUT sometimes He heals medically through the hands of a human doctor whose hands and mind He guides for His glory and the good of His children. He can heal whom He wills, how He wills, when He wills, with or without faith, and with or without a human instrument. DON’T dare think He fits in your little box of divine healing or you may learn otherwise.
Well, I just wanted the share my testimony with you and remind you that whether you are visually challenged, as I have been, or one with 20/20 vision naturally, HE did it for HIS glory and it’s not over till it’s over.
PRAYER: Thank you Father for loving us so much. May we be constantly reminded that we should not take a moment or a movement for granted for you are always watching and waiting for just the right moment.
