Morning Moments

"Nothing doubting" - These are the words that ring through my mind this morning. Jesus spoke them, along with "all things are possible to him that believeth." And "with God all things are possible."

We know that doubt is responsible for fear and anxiety. But it works the other way too. It was why God tells us so many time in Scripture to "fear not," and to be "anxious for nothing." It is a struggle we all face from time to time. The words "Lord, I believe, but help thou mine unbelief" express the heart of every true believer.

If we know Christ lives in us and is filling us with His Spirit, how then can we doubt? Could it be that we doubt ourselves more than we doubt Him? "I know God can do this, but through me?" Could it be that we sometimes find it difficult to actually believe that God wants to speak through us, teach through us, love through us, accomplish great things through us? Could it really be that the fear of stepping out and being embarrassed, disappointed, or criticized is what stops us?

Remember what Mark records about Jesus lack of miracles in Nazareth: "He could not do many miracles there because of their unbelief." Oh, we believe that God shall "supply all our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." But what about things like, "I'm too young" or I'm too old" or "I'm not qualified" or I'm not a speaker" or a thousand other excuses.

Dwight L. Moody once said, "The world has yet to see what God can to with one who is fully yielded to HIM." Look what God did through Moody.

So, if a need exists in my life that God is not meeting, then maybe God sees that meeting that need, whether it be physical, financial, domestic, or whatever, would hinder me more than help me. Which is really saying that HE IS MEETING MY NEED. I have to TRUST HIM! God is not impressed with tricks but TRUTH and TRUST. So if you or I feel that our God who can do all things is not doing the thing we want and believe we need, then we must trust Him and not allow the enemy to lead us to doubt.

PRAYER: Father, I believe YOU for everything. Help me to understand that Your judgment is always best and that just as there have been things that have been against my better judgment, so there have been against YOUR better judgment for me. Thank you for saying "NO" sometimes. Thank you for saying "NOTHING" sometimes. Thank You for always doing what is best for your children. AMEN!
