"I will lift up my eyes unto the hills..."
I am now in a breath taking spot in the North Georgia mountains - alone with God! The mountains have always been a favorite place for me. This place reminds me of God's promise to me almost 30 years ago when I so longed to own my own mountain cottage. He said, "Son, if you will just trust me, I will provide a place for you in the mountains that you that you will not have to make payments on nor pay taxes on, but you can enjoy without price. Bless God for over 40 years He has done just that.
Jesus loved the mountains and hills. He prayed there. He preached there. In the above text the psalmist looked there BUT He knew that his strength came from THE LORD! Remember, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and that is precisely why I am here today.
With all of life's stress and demands; with all the business of the Father in the valley; all the rush and requirements and responsibilities of everyday life, we all need to "retire to the mountains" once in awhile. Pray that my mountain time will indeed be one of renewal and that I, as my Lord, can go again from here in the power of the Spirit.
Lord, You and I are alone together in this place. Eclipse all else from my vision but YOU and the work of your hands as I worship You in the beauty of holiness.
