HAGGAI
Chapters 1-2
"What's the use?" may have well become the mindset of the people who had returned from captivity. "After all", they might have thought, "we are tired, teared, torn, and tattered, and have had little but trouble." Sound familiar? It is how many feel and think after fighting the fight of faith and becoming weary, BUT GOD will not allow us to stop, for there is yet much to be done.
The Exhortation 1:1-3
The Excesses 1:4-11
The Excitement 1:12-15
The Edifice 2:1-9
The End 2:10-23
"Be not weary in well doing for you shall reap if you faint not". As believers we must understand that there is no retirement, no Sabbatical, no ceasing from God's work until it is done.
When I fly, I like to be left alone, but God rarely allows that! I recently sat next to a Roman Catholic teacher whom, when he first sat down on the plane, initiated conversation and was cursing. I made no attempt to correct him or ignore him, but realized I had been appointed by God to minister to him. Before the flight was ended, I honestly felt as though I had "won my brother". It seems that his whole spirit changed during that flight and as I opened my heart to him, he opened his heart to me and I believe God helped me to see even more clearly than ever that the work is not finished. Wherever we are, whatever we are doing, with whomever we find ourselves, God is present and desires to manifest Himself between and among us, as He renews our excitement through His exhortation to "endure" to the END!
BLESSINGS!
