Morning Moments

JONAH
CHAPTERS 1-4
The name Jonah means “dove” which may be characteristic of his desire to fly away or  flee from the task for which he was commissioned.  The truth of the matter however, is that he disobeyed, suffered the consequence, repented and obeyed, then saw the results of his obedience.  It is an important lesson for us - NEVER RUN FROM GOD, BUT ALWAYS TO HIM.
A Prophet on the Run 1:1-17
A Prophet in Regret 2:1-10
A Prophet Recommissioned 3:1-10
A Prophet with Results 4:1-11
“The gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”  In other words, God does not change His mind about those he calls and gifts to do His work.  Delays are only for our own development, but disobedience always leads to discipline.  Once again we learn from the account of Jonah simply to “Pray and Obey”!

BLESSINGS!
