HOSEA
Chapters 1-14
It is a sad tale when one has a burning love for another without reciprocal feelings, especially in a marital relationship when the object of one’s love becomes not only unfaithful, but wickedly so.
That is the sad story of this book regarding the people whom God had chosen, loved, protected, and delivered time and time again. But it is true that whatever we sow, we reap and if we sow it plentifully, we shall so reap with increasing measure.
The Strange Example - Hosea and Gomer 1:1-3:5
The Man 1:1
The Marriage 1:2-2:1
The Mess 2:2-23
The Mandate 3:1-5
The Stirring Explanation - God and Israel 4:1-14:8
The Rebellion 4:1-7:16
The Reaping for the Rebellion 8:1-13:16
The Return from the Rebellion 14:1-8
The conclusion of the whole matter is found in the final verse which clearly shows us what the story in this book is all about: God’s is not just concerned about people “getting right” with Him, but He is just as concerned with their “staying right” with Him.
“Be thou faithful unto death and you shall receive a crown of life...”
BLESSINGS!
