Morning Moments

JEREMIAH
Chapter 1-54
Jeremiah’s prophesy covered the final 40 years of the kingdom of Judah and the deportation to Babylon.
It was a time of world dominion by Egypt, Babylon, and Assyria.  Jeremiah’s outcry against the idolatry and apostasy of Judah were rejected to such an extent that the Word of Jehovah was cut up with a penknife and cast into the fire by Jehoiakim.  Zedekiah rejected the same Word of Jehovah.
Fifty one times we find the words, “The word of the Lord came...”
The Fellow - Jeremiah 1:1-19 - Prophet
The Faults - North and South - 2:1-25:38
The Fights - Jeremiah’s enemies -26:1-29:32
The Fostering - Of Jeremiah - 30:1-33:26
The Fall
   Of Jerusalem 34:1-45:5
   Of the other nations 46:1-51:64
The Finality 52:1-34
The brief outline cannot possibly provide for the reader the agony of soul and the antagonism which this man of God faced.  Jeremiah felt as deeply as any man could, the depth of rejection and retribution from those who so hated the Word of God.
Let us not despair in our day when so many have fallen prey to the silence and apathy of comfort and compromise, while others cry out against the evils of our own idolatry, greed, immorality, bribery, perversion, abortion, and on and on.

"Let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

BLESSINGS!
