Chapters 1-66

General Introduction

As we consider the Books of the Prophets, we shall follow a basic overview for each of them, but with deferring details.  Fox example:  Who? What? When? Where? Why?  Then we shall give a brief outline of the book.  See below -

There are three time periods for what are known as the Major and Minor Prophets, which simply indicates that major are longer than minor, nothing more.  Those three time periods are as follows:

PRE-EXILIC:  Prior to Exile

   Jonah

   Amos

   Hosea

   Isaiah

   Micah

   Nahum

   Jeremiah

   Habakkuk

   Joel   
   Obadiah

EXILIC:  During Exile

   Daniel

   Ezekiel

POST-EXILIC:  After the Exile

   Haggai

   Zechariah

   Malachi

Isaiah prophesied to Judah which focuses upon two major points: Rebellion and Redemption, Judgment and Justification.  We shall proceed to answer the basic questions and then present a brief outline.
