Morning Moments

SONG OF SOLOMON
Chapters 1-8
I think the best way for me to help you to understand this book is to break in down into the three main characters:
A Sister - A Shulamite Girl protect by her brothers.
A Sovereign - The King who sees her and wants her.
A Shepherd - Who loves her with an infinite love and whom she loves in return.
The book is filled with poetic language and Eastern culture and custom, so if I may, I will briefly tell the story -
There was a family in Shulem with a widowed mother, several sons, and a single daughter who was loved and protected by her brothers.
This young girl, while tending flock met a young and handsome shepherd with whom she fell madly in love.  The only time they could meet would be in the evenings.
One day, the king saw her and was struck with her beauty.  He did everything he could to allure and charm her, even to bringing her into his royal court.   He dined her and dazzles her, but to know avail.  Her heart belonged to the shepherd boy.
Ultimately, the king dismissed her and on her way home she met her love where they first met.  Her brothers reward her virtue.

This is a story of love, faithfulness and fidelity!  All that glitters is not gold!  It is the HEART that matters and only a heart with the SHEPHERD present is ever satisfied.

BLESSINGS!
