PSALMS II
We have said that there are actually five books in Psalms which, if counted separately would be 70 Bible Books rather than 66. Six being the number of man and seven being the number of completion.
Be that as it may, the second book of Psalms focuses upon the nation Israel and is concerned with three main subjects in regards to the nation.
The Deuteronomy Book (EXODUS) 42-72
The Ruin of the Nation - Chapters 42-49
There is such agony as the Plea for Deliverance is made in Psalm 42 and 43, the Perseverance of the Downcast is see in Chapters 44-45, and the Praise of the Deliverer is found in Chapters 46-49.
The Redeemer of the Nation - Chapters 50-60
In the previous chapters, man has been speaking to God and for God, but now God speaks and the speech reminds us of what God has done in creation, in birth, in anger, and in righteousness.
The Redemption of the Nation - Chapters 61-72
In these chapters we discover Israel waiting upon God in 65:1 and in 72:19, we discover the answer to the waiting when the Messiah rules over all the earth.
