Morning Moments

PSALMS
IntroductionThe Psalms consists of five books, each corresponding to the Pentateuch (Gen-Deut).  Obviously, it would be impossible for us to give a detailed outline of this massive collection of 150 psalms here, for that is not our objective.

We know of six human authors of the Psalms: David, who wrote most of them, Asaph (50, 73-83), the sons of Korah (42, 44, 46-49, 84, 85, 88), Solomon (72, 127), Heman the Ezrahite (89)
We will however, seek to explain briefly the structure of each of the five books mentioned so that you may get an idea of how they related to one another.
The Genesis Book Chapters 1-41
Chapters 1-8 deal with “Man” & “The Son of Man” with the key verse being 8:4 - “What is man that Thou art mindful of him?  And the son of man that Thou visitest him?”
Chapters 9-15 deal with “The Man of the Earth” with the key verses being 10:17-18 which can be understood as having its fulfillment in the Antichrist - “”LORD, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt prepare their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed.  That the MAN OF THE EARTH (caps are mine for emphasis) may be no more.  He is no saying that man shall be no more!
Chapters 16-41 deal with “The Man Christ Jesus” in the Suffering and Triumph.  The conclusion of this section is “Amen and Amen!

Regardless of our study or ability to understand, one day we shall see how God SO AMAZINGLY inspired the text, constructed the test, arranged the text, and preserved the text.  I, for one can hardly wait!  Even so, Come Lord Jesus!

BLESSINGS!
