Morning Moments

JOB
The Deity: Jehovah
The Devoted: Job
The Devil: Satan
The Deceived: Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar
The Declarer: Elihu
THE DELIVER: Jehovah 38:1-42:6
“Where there are many words, there is sin” says the Scripture and there have certainly been many words in these discourses.
I have learned that when a Christian is led away from Scripture in arguments about spiritual things, and begins to lean to his own understanding, his own opinions, and his preconceived notions, he/she is headed for trouble.  When dealing with the devil Jesus NEVER used reason, ONLY SCRIPTURE!  That should be lesson enough for us.
Job was fine as long as he stayed focused, but he allowed his friends to confuse him and confound him.  BUT let’s be realistic about it, for he was suffering beyond measure and trying to think clearly at the same time.  THAT is most difficult!
So God wraps it all up through His Counsel, Correction, and Challenge in 38:1- 41:34.  Upon which Job repents in dust and ashes 42:1-6.
The conclusion of the matter comes as God rebukes Job’s friends.  It must have been the first time they heard from Him 42:7-9, and God restores to this “righteous” man far more that he ever lost in 42:10-17.
Finally, remember the following:
God is Sovereign and as such TESTS His saints.  As we are tested, Satan TEMPTS us to doubt God, ourselves, others, and often clouds our perspective.  BUT GOD is always in control and draws the line for the test and provides a way out of the temptation, and ultimately causes us to triumph.  Cast not away your confidence, and look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

BLESSINGS!
